EM Gerätebau

About Us

Our Team completes the company.

Our team currently consists of about 140 employees.

We are proud of our low employee turnover; lengths of service of 15 years and more are not uncommon – we have already celebrated several 25- and 30-year anniversaries.

We do a lot to ensure our employees feel comfortable and valued, because that's the only way they can reach their full potential. Each individual knows they are important and contributes their skills and qualifications with great dedication to our customers, as a cog in a large machine. Together, we have grown through all the challenges of recent years and decades. We are proud of our experienced and loyal team.

The Executive Board

Each of our employees plays a crucial role in the company's success!

As a values-driven, medium-sized company, it is important to us to create a modern and successful work environment for our employees.

Our goal is to support all employees in fulfilling their roles through comprehensive training and professional development, personal responsibility, and delegation.

The future drives us forward.

About Us

Our Values

Transparent Communication

Our communication is clear, open, and honest, and our interactions with customers and employees are characterized by mutual respect. Our customers need to know where they stand and what we can do for them.

We stand by our word, without exception.

We also listen carefully: to our customers, so we can deliver the best possible results, and to our employees, taking their concerns, suggestions, and ideas to heart.

Social Responsibility

We take responsibility for the society in which we live. This includes, among other things, safeguarding the more than 140 jobs we now provide and, through the continuous staffing of our training workshop, educating young people to become skilled specialists.

We are committed to Germany as a business location.

Environmentally friendly production conditions

We want to do our part to protect the environment, which is why, for example, we use only eco-friendly lubricants, heat our facilities using heat recovery from the waste heat of our machines, and have made our production processes as paperless as possible.

After consolidating these and many subsequent ongoing environmental activities into an environmental management system, we were recognized by the Bavarian Environmental Pact, and since July 2013 we have been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001. DIN EN ISO 14001 zertifiziert.

Quality

We are a strong link in every production chain and thus create value for our customers.

Our quality standards are high, and their implementation is verified at every stage of the production process. Our quality management system is, of course, certified by an independent body. Furthermore, quality is a matter of honor for our entire company as well as for each individual employee.

Solaranlagen auf dem Dach

About Us

Sustainability

Recognizing our responsibility toward the environment and natural resources, we consistently prioritize sustainable solutions in the areas of energy and utilities.

For example, we use solar panels on our rooftops to generate part of our energy needs ourselves in an environmentally friendly way.

In addition, the waste heat generated by our machines is put to good use to heat our facilities, thereby efficiently reducing our energy consumption.

We use shallow groundwater from a production well to cool our punching and laser machines, thereby helping to conserve valuable energy resources.

Our Story

1972

Today's EM Gerätebau GmbH was founded as Elektromechanische Gerätebau GmbH. The company began by manually manufacturing simple sheet metal parts.

1987

Relocation to Mammendorf and opening of the current, central, and modern production facility.

1980 / 90

The introduction of new computer-aided technologies to enhance precision and productivity. This creates a healthy balance between traditional craftsmanship and time- and cost-efficient manufacturing.

2000

Targeted initiatives in the areas of automation, process control, and quality assurance have been launched with the aim of expanding production to focus on comprehensive CNC series and system manufacturing that meets the highest quality standards for major customers and well-known brand manufacturers.

2002

The parent company’s bankruptcy presents today’s management team with its greatest challenge to date. Their awareness of the company’s potential, their confidence in the direction they have chosen, and their sense of responsibility toward the employees leave them with only one course of action: to transition the business into an independent entity and establish it on its own solid footing as EM Gerätebau GmbH.

The goals of saving jobs at the site, preserving the expertise built up over decades, and making even better use of the plant’s potential have been achieved and surpassed: No one has had to be laid off, and the workforce has since grown from fifty to seventy. Not a single customer has left, and not a single order has been lost—the customer relationships, further strengthened by reliability and openness, have weathered this transition phase unscathed: The hard-earned trust of our customers is paying off for both sides, and our vision of sustainable value is being confirmed.

2003 / 4

While many competitors shifted their production to other countries—primarily in Eastern Europe—in 2003 and 2004 for cost reasons, we continue to prioritize “Made in Germany” quality through strategic automation, consistent utilization of our facilities, and logistics optimizations. Our success proves us right.

2008

New machinery, the expansion of production and storage capacity, further improvements to material flow, and the establishment of new office space necessitate the construction of a new facility so that we can continue to meet our customers’ needs consistently and with the highest quality and precision.

Our regular, sustained investments in the company’s core assets—employees, facilities, and logistics—have paid off: EM Gerätebau GmbH remained on solid footing throughout the 2009 fiscal year, even amid the global financial and economic crisis.

2022

In September 2022, construction will be completed on an additional production facility, including a warehouse and various offices, spanning three floors.
